Bonfire Recovery has an Outpatient program in NH that is a combination of proven addiction treatment modalities to help the person struggling with substance use disorder.

At the core of this program is Cognitive behavioral therapy or CBT. Holistic programming also underlies all clinical services offered at Bonfire Recovery.

All clinical interactions inside of the Outpatient program have the goal of enhancing the client’s insight by assisting listening, accepting their perspectives while aiding them in setting concrete, achievable goals.

Individual clients will practice skills to move them to the next phase of their recovery from addiction and challenge the old belief systems that have possibly prevented them from succeeding in their addiction recovery goals in the past.

Bonfire Recovery requires clients to abstain from all illicit substances in order to participate in its Outpatient program in NH.

is the window to acceptance, awareness, and wisdom.

This approach to addiction recovery has proven highly effective in teaching people to be more in tune with self. Emotionally, physically, and cognitively. Through learned skills in an Outpatient group discussion and other group activities, individuals will learn to use skills that foster individuality, health, and wellness. This Outpatient group draws from the work of Jon Kabat-Zinn, who focused on mindfulness-based cognitive therapy.

The heart of this work lies in becoming acquainted with the modes of mind that often characterize mood disorders while simultaneously learning to develop a new relationship with them.

helps individuals become more accepting of their view of self through acknowledgment of a substance use disorder, or co-occurring disorder, that is formulated through disease and brain-based illness concept, as well as environmental etiology.

Individuals become empowered to make changes or move through the stages of change model, towards long term abstinence and sustainable recovery.

Relationships and Addiction

Substance Use Disorders and co-occurring disorders have a severe impact on interpersonal relationships and family dynamics. Through Motivational Interviewing techniques and Cognitive Behavioral intervention, our Outpatient in NH has this group that creates a safe environment for individuals to explore their close relationships and discern between healthy and maladaptive relationships between self and friends, support systems, and family. Members will learn and practice creating new relationships, amending strained relationships, and creating recovery support systems to engage in recovery-related activities. Conflict resolution skills will help the group members to identify, change old patterns, and behaviors to achieve meaningful, long-lasting relationships with their peers and family members.

allows for self-awareness and forgiveness. This Outpatient group skill draws from the theory of Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT). This method is a unique empirically based psychological intervention that uses acceptance and mindfulness strategies, together with commitment and behavior change strategies, to increase psychological flexibility. The main focus of this method is:

  • Accept your reactions and be present.
  • Choose a valued direction.
  • Take action.

Individuals will practice acceptance skills within daily living and grow in understanding and effectiveness within interpersonal relationships to help balance and sustain long term recovery from addiction.

Communication Skill Building

This skill-building group at our Outpatient in NH teaches individuals important lessons and provides an opportunity to include new ways to communicate. Skills are drawn from a variety of effective modalities including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Rational Emotive Behavioral Therapy, and Dialectical Behavior Therapy. Clients will draw from their own experiences through a solutions-focused approach to improve and practice new techniques in their interpersonal relationships. to sustain recovery from addiction and healthy interpersonal relationships.

Relapse Prevention

Relapse Prevention draws from the personal experiences of the group members to identify and discern between recovery related thought processes and maladaptive cognitive distortions. Group members will dedicate time to learn what triggers and social or environmental cues may precipitate a relapse while integrating recovery skills to learn new thinking as well as action planning to avoid substance use. Our Outpatient in New Hampshire members will also become familiar with the management of co-occurring symptoms. This will help them learn healthy and effective ways to facilitate self-care. Individuals will become familiar with the cycle of addiction and determine safety plans that will guide them in early recovery as they engage in setting up healthy recovery support systems. Members will also dedicate time to develop a relapse prevention plan and identify relapse prevention strategies to practice to ensure solid long term recovery.
